Free MP3 Tag Editor for ID3 metadata and cover art

Update the title, artist, album, album artist, year, track number, disc number, genre, comment, BPM, and initial key. These are practical ID3 fields for fixing a filename-to-tag mismatch, preparing a DJ library, or making a personal collection easier to browse.

The editor shows the tags already found in the file, including the detected raw frame IDs. Reset restores the loaded tags and cover art, so do not reset edits you want to keep before downloading.

Use Key & BPM Finder when you need an estimated musical key and tempo from an audio file. You can then enter those values in the MP3 tags after checking whether they match what you hear.

Choose or drop an MP3 file into the workspace. It must be an MP3; up to 10 files can be loaded at once, with a 100 MB limit per file and a 300 MB total workspace limit.

Select a file, review its existing tags, and edit the fields you want to keep consistent. You can preview the audio in the browser while checking the title, artist, album, and artwork.

Choose Save & download to create a tagged MP3 copy. The tool writes the metadata in the browser and does not re-encode the audio, so the original file remains unchanged on your device.

When several files belong to one release or set, select the ready files and use the batch editor for album, album artist, year, or genre. Empty batch fields are left alone, so you can apply one correction without replacing unrelated tags.

Small text transforms can change selected title and artist fields to Title Case, uppercase, or lowercase. You can also derive artist and title from filenames using an artist - title pattern, or number the selected files in queue order.

Download one selected file on its own, or download multiple selected files as a ZIP archive. Review the result in your music player or library because different players may display ID3 fields in slightly different ways.

Choose a JPG or PNG as album artwork, or remove the existing cover. Cover images can be up to 5 MB. The editor treats artwork as tag data and leaves the audio stream itself alone.

The original MP3 is never overwritten by Save & download: a new file name ending in -tagged.mp3 is created. Keep the original if you want an untouched backup or need to compare player behavior.

All selected files stay in the current browser workspace. Closing or clearing the page removes that in-memory work, so download copies you want to keep before leaving.

BPM and key fields can make a music library easier to search and prepare for a session. Enter values you have checked rather than treating an estimate as a definitive musical label.

The built-in Detect Key & BPM action accepts files up to 20 MB and analyzes up to 10 minutes of audio locally in the browser. It fills the tags only with Key or BPM values that meet its reliability threshold; for a separate tempo check by ear, use BPM Tapper and compare its reading with the track.

Metadata is descriptive information, not a replacement for listening. Preview a track after editing and confirm that the displayed values, cover, and filename fit the version you intend to use.
