Switch between polyphonic mode and melody mode according to the material you want the analysis to emphasize. Then filter notes by minimum duration, strength, and pitch range. Duration can remove very brief events, strength can reduce weaker detections, and pitch range can keep the result within the register that matters to your part. Use these controls as targeted tests, not as a promise that every source will need the same settings.

Adjust one filter value at a time and compare the resulting note set before changing another control. Keep the setting that retains the musical line you want while reducing notes you do not need.

Compare five common source situations: a vocal line, humming, piano, guitar, and a dense full mix. Vocals or a single instrument usually give the model a clearer target because one musical part leads the recording. Humming can be useful for a sketched melody, while piano or guitar may suit an instrumental phrase. A full mix asks the model to interpret several overlapping parts and may produce extra notes.
