01 · Shape the idea
The generator keeps the first pass focused: give it a short brief, then choose the controls that define the melody's musical space.
Describe the style, mood, instrument direction, or scene in up to 180 characters. A concrete brief such as a warm lo-fi piano idea for a rainy study session gives the model a clearer starting point than a list of unrelated words.
Set BPM from 60 to 180, choose C, G, D, A, E, F, Am, Em, or Dm, and select 4 or 8 bars in 4/4. These settings define a small, predictable space for the first melody draft.
Optional genre, mood, and featured-instrument choices help describe the direction. Available genres include lo-fi, jazz, cinematic, electronic, classical, and funk; the instrument choice guides the idea rather than assigning a finished MIDI sound.
02 · From prompt to file
Treat the output as a melody sketch. The useful decision is not whether the first take is final, but whether it gives you a musical idea worth developing.
Generate, preview, and download as a guest with no account. Guest generations are limited to 1 per day with Turnstile; signed-in users can generate up to 5 times per day.
AI MIDI generation is free for every user and does not use site credits. Sign in only to save account history or send this result directly to the MIDI Editor; downloaded MIDI can be edited later without signing in.
Preview the generated melody immediately and check its contour, rhythm, and ending. A short preview makes it easier to compare two ideas before you spend time arranging either one.
Download the MIDI when the sketch is useful, or open it in the site's MIDI Editor to inspect and change individual notes. The generator creates the starting idea; detailed note editing happens in the editor.
03 · Know the boundary
Knowing what the generator does not create prevents a useful sketch from being mistaken for a finished arrangement.
The current generator creates one original monophonic melody. It does not currently generate chord parts, drum parts, or a multi-track arrangement. You can add those layers later in your own production workflow.
Each result is 4 or 8 bars in 4/4, uses one of the supported keys, and contains no more than 96 notes. It is designed as a compact starting point, not a complete song or a full-length composition.
Piano, synth, strings, guitar, saxophone, and bells describe the featured direction of the melody. They do not create a true instrument assignment or guarantee a specific multi-track sound in the exported file.
Use the downloaded MIDI as a starting asset for a larger project. Chords, drums, sound design, automation, recording, and mixing remain outside this generator's single-melody output.
04 · Practical starting points
A short MIDI result is most useful when it answers a small creative question before you commit to a larger arrangement.
Describe the emotional direction and listen for a motif you can keep, reshape, or use as a reference while writing the rest of the track.
Choose a manageable tempo, key, and 4-bar length to create a compact phrase for keyboard, guitar, or melody practice.
Use the MIDI as a pitched starting line, then add your own chord and drum layers in a MIDI Editor or DAW when the melody direction is clear.
Change the mood, genre, or tempo and compare short takes. Keeping each take small makes it easier to tell which musical decision changed the result.
